Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jairam Thakur said on Friday that despite the difficulties, the government had managed to accelerate development in all parts of Himachal Pradesh.
Speaking to Tridev Sammelan at the Solan district police compound in Himachal Pradesh, Thakur said: “The parliamentary constituency of Shimla traditionally remains the stronghold of Congress but now, thanks to the hard work of BJP workers , she rocked that bastion of Congress, continuously winning three elections.”
Thakur added, “The party Tridevs (party workers at the stand level) were key to strengthening the organization and it was crucial that the Tridevs worked with more dedication and coordination.”
He further added that the Tridevs were truly the cornerstones of the Party and their strength demanded the future of the Party. Party workers must set a goal and then strive for the same goal.
“During the past four years, difficult times were ahead of us, but despite this, we tried to work to accelerate development in all areas of Himachal Pradesh and we succeeded,” he said.
Targeting the Congress party, Thakur said, “As for the opposition, after the elections they were in the situation where they thought it was difficult and for a few days now they realize that the elections are close, they think they can win from this riding. They try to create an environment by deceiving people. But I would like to say one thing to the friends of Congress: Congress has disappeared from all over the country.
“This time we gave a slogan and maintained our point which is ‘Na Raj Badlega Na Taj Badlega, Abki Baar Bas Riwaz Badlega’ (Neither the ruler will change nor the crown, this time the ritual will change). We will change the ritual of changing governments every 5 years in Himachal Pradesh,” he added.
“As far as the government is concerned, in these four and a half years, Himachal Pradesh stands with a new identity. We are all lucky that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has great love for Himachal. We we are lucky that our Prime Minister Narendra Modi has visited the states seven times during this one and a half year term,” he said.
Central projects worth more than Rs. 10,000 crore were sanctioned for the state, in addition to special financial assistance of Rs. 800 crore. An AIIMS, four medical schools, the Atal Rohtang tunnel, the IIM, etc. were possible thanks to the dual-engine governments of the State and the Center. Yet people in Congress say the prime minister gave us nothing, he added.
“One of the congress leaders said if they come to power they will reject all plans of Jairam Thakur. They ask what I have done for the state. I don’t think there is a need to say the work I have done.
“People in the state are aware of the pension scheme for the elderly, He cares about Yojna for the treatment of the poor, under the Ujjawala scheme, we have provided gas cylinders in every house. We have Shagun Yojna for girls who are from below the poverty line Mukhyamantri Swamblamban Yojna in which we have given employment Will Congress reject all these projects We stand firm with one goal that this time we will sue again for the government,” he said.
